My students call me an amazing teacher, an imparter of wisdom. I've been teaching for over 25 years. But I never considered it work because I love to share what I know. I believe that everyone can have a better life through Reflexology. Nothing could be better than the life I'm living.

HERE'S MY STORY:

Sixteen years ago, my health was deteriorating. Doctors found nothing specific. I was overworking myself and had a lot of life-stress. I found Reflexology instrumental in supporting my body’s efforts to regain health and well being. Here’s my story.

It all began when I was in graduate school. I started to experience chronic digestive problems. My system became irritable and my digestive processes would fluctuate wildly. Trips to the doctor, though important in ruling many things out, were not successful in identifying just what the problem was.

Then a shift occurred. My respiratory system became taxed and I was having a series of colds that lasted, with little reprieve, for 6 months or more at a time.

This was all very hard on my body. My immune system must have been a wreck. I would lie in bed not able to move. I worked as an artist and as an independent contractor, so if I didn’t work the bills didn’t get paid. I needed something that would support and kick start my system.

Here I was, sick, and in my graduate art program, writing and painting, plus working at a job. I had to find something that would help me to grow strong again. But what? I began to study several different forms of bodywork, first Polarity Therapy, then Acupressure, then Cranio-Sacral Balancing, and then Reflexology.

While they all helped in some way, I had to find a way to attend to and support my own health. And so it struck me all at once that the easiest thing to do was to put my hands on my feet and give myself a mini Foot Reflexology session.

How simple. From the moment I finished that brief 20 minute session, I felt better. Not completely better, but the improvement was tangible. I felt it in my body, my energy level, and my feeling of hope. You bet I continued. And every day, inch by inch, I began to improve.

I felt better, stronger, and less stressed every day that I gave myself just a few minutes of Reflexology. And I noticed the opposite if I forgot. And so I continued every day for 10 or 15 or 20 minutes. And every day for those few months, I would feel noticeably better.

That’s when I really understood, in my own experience, the power of Reflexology.

Here’s the really good news. I’m completely healthy now and I didn’t ever have some horrible, mystery disease. I would have gotten sicker and sicker though because my body was reacting to toxic paint solvents used by my fellow students.

Graduating and moving out of the studio confirmed it. My body had become intolerant to solvents and it did what it’s designed to do - let me know I was in harms way. I firmly believe that Reflexology supported and assisted in the strengthening of my immune system. In effect it saved me from even greater health dis-ease.

I've now made it my goal for the last 16 years - to share my Reflexology, health and well being knowledge with as many people as possible.

Reflexology quickly became my personal bodywork of choice. Soon I was teaching a full 200 hour Reflexology Certification Training Program.

I have since expanded my Reflexology programs from 200 to a new 500 hour Reflexology Master program currently being taught in Manhattan.

Still eager to learn, I became a licensed massage therapist (LMT), a shiatsu practitioner, a Mechanical Link practitioner (IAHP), along with several other bodywork and health related trainings.

Today I have over 3,500 hours of training. I’m also a Director on the American Reflexology Certification Board. It is with some authority that I say Reflexology is unique.

I love being a Reflexologist and I am passionate about teaching Reflexology. For the past 12 years, I have taught nurses, podiatrists, counselors, massage therapists, physical therapists, dancers, musicians, artists, estheticians, nutritionists, corporate workers, educators, bodyworkers and lots of people with no previous bodywork experience to become Professional Reflexologists.

My twin passions are to learn and to teach. I learn something every day through Reflexology. I teach those who are inspired by and open to learning.

"REFLEXOLOGY, IT’S A NEVER ENDING SOURCE OF LEARNING, AN HONOR TO GIVE, A JOY TO RECEIVE, A FASCINATING MICROCOSM OF LIFE ITSELF.”

Wishing you the very best,

Wendy Coad
